Fund Drive 2011

What’s the benefit of contributing to the Arts Council of Wilson? You may be thinking, "What's in it for me?"

First, your tax deductible contribution will give you the Arts Courier and all invitations or postcards announcing activities delivered directly to your home. You get the inside track on any gallery openings or events in the Arts Center or Boykin Center long before they are announced to the general public. You are also invited to the annual meeting, usually in June, to review the budget, meet the nominations for the board of directors and cast your vote.

Here are some benefits
contributors enjoy the most:

• Discounts on camps and workshops
• Discounts on rentals and most activities
• Discounts on gallery purchases in the Boykin, Lowe and Hammond galleries of 10% or more.

Now let’s talk facts and figures:

Last year $22,000 dollars in grant money was awarded to:
• The Wilson Education Partnership for IN HARMONY and an ELEMENTARY HONORS CHORUS for Wilson County Schools
• The Wilson Barton Symphony for "Symphony and Soul"
• The Partnership for Children to bring Kimberly Johnson, a children's author, to our community
• The Freeman Round House for a series of films on the African American Heroes in our culture
• The Wilson Community College Foundation for cultural arts presentations
• The Wilson County Public Library
• ProMusic Conservatory for concerts "Around the Town"
• Visions Community Theater Group, Inc.

The Arts Council of Wilson benefits our community in so many ways!

Did you know that our gallery sales last year were more than $30,000 and $20,000 went directly to the artists showing in our galleries and back into our community? Because of your contributions anyone may enter our galleries and enjoy the beauty and wonder inside.

Many of you may not know that The Arts Council of Wilson, Inc., manages the Edna Boykin Cultural Center and the Wilson Arts Center in collaboration with the city and county, and provides the ACT! for Youth program and the Boykin Series.

Your contributions (including our traditional "A Banker’s Holiday" and other fundraisers), gifts and grants provide the funding. But whether it is spent on an educational program or artists and performers, our community continues to discover the arts through the Arts Council of Wilson.

Using facts and figures again, we had more than 33,000 people involved and enjoying the Arts Council activities and that’s proof that we make Art Work!

Listed are the different levels of giving available to you. Whatever your choice, the Arts Council is proud to have you as a part of this wonderful organization. You can pledge now and let us know when to expect your contribution. Credit cards are accepted. For just $25.00 each month become a member of THE RENAISSANCE SOCIETY, our most benevolent group!
