The Arts Council of Wilson is ringing in the Holiday season with its largest fundraiser of the year A Banker's Holiday which will be held Friday, December 3rd, 2010. "Candyland Christmas," is the magical theme of this year's event. Wilson bankers and the Arts Council are offering two exciting options for your evening's entertainment. Tickets are available for each portion individually, or maximize your fun with a minimum of funds and get the package deal!

First, check out hilarious comedian Jerry Carroll at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center from 7-8 p.m. Jerry first achieved his dream of making people laugh with an appearance at Charlie Goodnight's Comedy Club in 1993. His career then took off making him in demand throughout the US and Canada for events ranging from rural to royal. You will love his hilarious punch lines as much as his southern panache. An open bar will be provided with snack/bar foods before and after the show. Tickets to this event are $25 per person.

At the Arts Council, more festivities await you in the gallery and the pavilion. The band "Black and Blue" will entertain you in the pavilion from 8 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. This talented group of performers have entertained audiences throughout the eastern US and Canada since 1968. Versatility is one of their trademarks, and they will keep the pavilion prancing with tunes from Golden Oldies to Top 40, with some Motown, R&B, Beach, Funk, Urban, Hip Hop, and Rap thrown in for good measure. Wilson area caterers Kathryn Meares, Carolina Cheese, JAC's, and Quince will satisfy culinary cravings and friendly bartenders will be standing by to serve favorite libations. Tickets for this portion of the night's entertainment are $45 per person.

Tickets are also available for $50 per person, which include both the Jerry Carroll performance and the pavilion party. Reserved tables for eight are available for $500. A silent auction will also be held for fabulous themed gift baskets generously provided by the sponsoring banks and artwork donated by local artists.
